The Kaduna State Government on Tuesday condemned the terrorist attack on the Kaduna-Abuja train.
Bandits had attacked Kaduna – Abuja train on Monday, killed several passengers, abducted others, while some sustained injuries as a result of gunshots.
Muyiwa Adekeye, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media & Communication, in a statement on Tuesday, disclosed that Malam Nasir El-Rufai and Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe visited the injured in hospitals.
He said the governor prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased persons and wishes the injured persons a speedy recovery.
While sympathizing with all the passengers, the government extended its condolence to the families of those who died in the attack.
It said since the evacuation of passengers from the scene of the attack has been completed, efforts are still being made to account for all the passengers, crew and security officers that were on the train.
According to the statement, the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency has issued a contact number for inquiries and information from family members of the passengers.
It appealed to all citizens to uphold law and order, and promote peace and harmony in our communities.
He said the state government continues to liaise with the Federal Government and security agencies to protect people, defeat terrorists and other criminals.
” It is imperative to stand together against those who threaten civilised order.” It said.
