Macaroni Receives Death Threats Over Reopening Of Lekki Tollgate By Govt


Popular content creator, Debo Adebayo, professionally known as Mr. Macaroni has received death threats for speaking against the reopening of the Lekki tollgate.

The tollgate was closed following the shooting of #EndSARS protesters by soldiers on October 20.

Motorists before the closure of the toll gate pay a certain toll to gain entrance or exit at the tollgate.

The Lagos State Government in a statement recently released noted that it would reopen the tollgate on the 1st of April 2022 (today).

The decision of the state government to reopen the tollgate stirred reactions.

Mr. Macaroni, an #EndSARS activist spoke against the reopening of the toll gate.

The comedian on Thursday evening in a post on his Twitter account noted that he has been getting death threats for speaking against the reopening of the tollgate.

The comedian shared a screenshot of one of the threat messages which read, “This Macaroni of guy will most likely end his life untimely because of foolishness, Very senseless unpatriotic bastard. what’s his business with Lekki Toll Gate, I pray I get hold of him tomorrow at the Toll Gate I will kill him on sight.”

Mr. Macaroni in his reaction said he loves the Nigeria Police Force and Lagos State.

He said, “This is one of many threats I receive regularly. Nigerian Police and Lagos State Government. I love you, and I know you love me too.”
